How much does it cost to hire a wedding band in Crete, Greece
The cost of hiring a wedding band in Crete depends on several factors, including the type of performance, the band’s size, travel and accommodation costs.
If you’re looking for a solo performance to accompany you during key moments, such as walking down the aisle, prices typically start at €400-€1000, depending on the musician’s experience level and location.
For a cocktail hour band, such as an acoustic duo or a jazz trio, costs range from €800 to €2,000, depending on the musicians' reputation and set duration.
For the wedding party, a full wedding band, whether a quartet, quintet, or larger ensemble, will generally cost between €1,500 and €4,000 for a local band.
If you choose a band from Athens or another part of Greece, additional travel and accommodation expenses will apply. Many destination wedding bands require flights, ferry tickets, hotel stays, and meals, which can add €500–€2,000 to the total cost.
All of the prices mentioned above include PA equipment and insurance costs.
To ensure a seamless experience, it’s best to book your wedding band well in advance, especially if you’re getting married during peak season. Whether you prefer a wedding party band, an acoustic duo for an intimate atmosphere, or a lively quintet to keep the dance floor full, getting a detailed quote that includes performance time, travel, accommodation, and equipment will help you plan your budget effectively.

How far in advance should I book my wedding band? It’s best to book your wedding band as early as possible, ideally 6 to 12 months before your wedding date. Popular bands often get fully booked during peak wedding seasons, so early planning ensures you secure your first choice.
-
What is the process for booking a wedding band?Booking a wedding band is simple! Start by browsing available options, listen to their demos, and read reviews. Once you’ve chosen a band, confirm availability for your date and discuss your requirements. After agreeing on a contract, a deposit is required to secure your booking.
-
How long do wedding bands usually perform? Most wedding bands perform for 2 to 2:30 hours, sometimes split into two sets. You can coordinate specific timing with the band to fit seamlessly into your schedule. If you’d like them to play for a longer duration, many bands are happy to discuss extended performances, which may involve an additional fee.
-
What happens during the band’s breaks and after their performance?During breaks, many bands provide pre-mixed playlists or a DJ service to keep the atmosphere lively. After their performance, the band will pack up their equipment. If you’d like music to continue beyond their set, discuss options like hiring a DJ or extending their services.
-
What type of songs will the wedding band play? You can select from a wide variety of wedding bands, each with their own unique style and specialties. -
Can I give the band a list of songs I want them to play?Absolutely! Most bands welcome one or two song requests and will work with you to incorporate your favorite tracks, whether it’s for your first dance or the grand entrance of the couple. However, it’s best to provide your songs in advance to give the band time to prepare. For more songs, additional fees may be required.

Can I or my guests sing or perform with the band? Many bands are open to having you or your guests perform with them, and it's often best to arrange this in advance. This can add a unique and personal touch to your event, making it even more memorable!
-
Will the musicians in the band be the same as those in their promotional videos? It’s the exception, but if substitutions are necessary, professional bands prioritize consistency and ensure that equally talented replacements are provided to maintain the high quality of the performance.
